Summary

The Project Manager-PPS is primarily responsible for planning & managing projects/jobs to schedule, on budget, and to exceed customer expectations through planning, proactive resource management, and exceptional communications with customers & other stakeholders. The project manager will orchestrate internal (engineering, procurement, services, etc.) & external resources (vendors, contractors, and customer resources) to ensure customer satisfaction and project profitability.

Essential Functions

  • Negotiations:
    • Support negotiations with evaluation of cost-change implications, schedule modifications & customer/3rd-party dependencies.
  • Execution (once PO received or contract signed):
    • Setup baseline budget & targets including schedule, costs, resources, materials, and work-breakdown-structure (WBS)
    • Setup submittals and document-deliverables structure & log.
      • Manage internal and flow-through submittals delivery process for traceability and to schedule.
    • Engage stakeholders (internal, vendors, customer) to drive and track ownership of deliverables and resolution of issues.
    • Setup cadence and update Project data based on latest information - cost/GM forecast, schedule update, risks/opportunities, and mitigation/materialization plans.
    • Establish and manage cadence of reviews (internal & with customer/s) to drive project performance - Margin Improvement, Schedule, Customer Satisfaction.
    • Ensure timely invoicing and elimination of accounts-receivables roadblocks on projects.
    • Coordinate & manage equipment, materials, and logistics with customer as well as site-preparedness.
    • Plan and perform site-management on-site as needed or coordination through Job-Leads on site.
    • Secure completion certificates and retention releases from customers.
  • Close-Outs
    • Close out all work-order and archive documentation
    • Review project performance - financial, schedule, vendors, customer satisfaction.
    • Facilitate the handoff for report review with PE or equivalent.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Relationship and Scope

Reports directly to the Service Operations Manager. Works closely with Sales, Customers and vendors/suppliers as well as other functions within PPS and the Weisiger Group shared services.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, which may include Computer Science, Business, or Engineering, preferred.
  • At least three years of related experience required.
  • PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications highly desirable.

The employee may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in some work environments is occasionally loud.
