Job Description
  • This individual will be responding to stroke alerts in both the hospital and the ED,
  • Will also respond to neurocritical patient need and will work closely with neuro Physicians.
  • The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • The Specialty/Invasive NP/PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families.
  • Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.
  • Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience.
  • Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Master's degree in nursing. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse -OR- Requires a Bachelor's Degree; completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant or Surgeon's Assistant program; Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA

Current BLS. Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.
