Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Senior Mechanical Project Engineers to join our Buildings/Architecture team in Southfield, MI!

We provide a full range of mechanical engineering services to municipal, commercial, higher education and public works agencies, partnering with clients to design buildings from the ground-up or to renovate existing buildings to optimize their use. From designing new and renovated systems, to providing both new building commissioning and retro-commissioning services, count on our team to develop a building solution that is both cost-effective and achieves our clients' goals.


Responsibilities

  • Apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to mechanical design projects.
  • Prepare advanced mechanical engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
  • Design and review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Analyze and interpret data, formulate, and solve problems.
  • Prepare or review scopes of work, budgets, and schedule assignments.
  • Prepare proposals to provide professional services.
  • Provide direction to junior mechanical engineers and technicians.
  • Work within AutoCAD Civil 3D and alongside the design team managers to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.
  • Perform field investigations/site visits as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
  • 7+ years experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire prevention design is required.
  • Licensed PE or pursuing licensure is required.
  • Advanced skills in Revit and proficient in CAD is required.
  • Ability to perform QA/QC on project drawings.
  • Ability to assist in the education and development of design staff.
  • Working knowledge of Industry Standard (ISA) P & ID development and evaluation.
