SEMCO - Inspector

The Inspector, under direct supervision, supports the Operations Department with a variety of field duties within the assigned geographic area.

You Will

  • Maintain knowledge of Public Act 53 (Protection of underground facilities).

  • Inspect the installation of new and replacement gas services and mains.

  • Planning and preparation of construction projects which include: surveying, field documentation, and permit/plan drawings (AutoCAD).

  • Prepare accurate work order documents & PCP's for use in the field.

  • Handle customer and contractor inquiries. Maintains appropriate documentation and reports on findings and actions.

  • Assist the various Operations depts.; Leak Survey, Collections, Miss Dig, etc.

  • Adhere to company internal control procedures and financial processes.

  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.

  • Represent SEMCO at Preconstruction meetings with various municipalities.


You Have

  • Possession of a high school diploma or successful completion of the General Educational Development Test required, supplemented with college courses or vocational training in drafting, surveying, electrical, circuits wiring or other related field

  • Knowledge of basic mechanical & electrical principles, preferred

  • Successful completion of Operator Qualification

In addition to our standard benefits package, the estimated hourly rate for this role will range from $30.53/hour - $33.65/hour, depending upon experience.
