Job Description
Summary

Reports to the Head of NA Advanced Industrial Organization (at the local level) and the Head of Advanced Purchasing (at global level), the Advanced Purchasing lead is responsible the purchasing activities as it's related to the execution strategy for Industrial Operations. These activities will include job sharing and make vs buy activities, early engagement of suppliers in the proposal phase, pre-negotiations and early agreements on commodities and services. The aim of the Advanced Industrial Organization is to work closely with all functions in order to be accountable for matching the Comau offers developed with the organization's execution strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

(these are the positions essential duties and is not an all inclusive list)

Main areas of responsibilities are:

  • Develop strong, collaborative cross-functional relationship with key peers (Proposals and Estimating, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, etc.).
  • Early engagement of suppliers during the proposal phase dealing with pre-negotiations
  • Support global competence centers.
  • Support after sales business related to products and services in the proposal phase.
  • Drive Comau Strategies from the supplier side focusing on cost competitiveness.
  • Actively contribute in meetings, projects and events.
  • Develop and deploy the commodity strategies; collaborate with global counterparts to maximize leverage.
  • Foster innovation input from suppliers and promote it into the organization.
  • Plan, organize and drive the best sourcing activities; prioritize sourcing activity based on the needs of the offer.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Understand the key components of cost and cost management.
  • Be commercially astute.
  • Experience in adjacent disciplines such as logistics, proposals, project management, manufacturing, engineering is welcomed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Familiar with ERP systems, SAP knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education :
    • Bachelor's degree in technical or economic matters, supply chain background preferred
  • Previous experiences:
    • Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in purchasing in a multinational environment
    • Knowledge of automation systems base within a Production Systems market segment
  • Languages:
    • Fluent in English, any other language is an asset.
