How you'll make an impact:

As the Vice President of Solution Architecture, you will lead a team of experts to create innovative, consistent, scalable and efficient architectural solutions for delivering SiriusXM services to automotive customers. You will closely collaborate with product management teams, engineering teams, business stakeholders and customers to ensure the best implementations and designs. You will drive increasing levels of quality and performance by driving the modernization of our technology platforms and introducing state-of-the-art tools and processes throughout the organization. Having a key role in the implementation of our product strategy, you will be the bridge providing technical communications and idea sharing across our product and technical teams, and enable our customer-facing teams to evangelize our solutions and support customer projects.

What you'll do:

  • Lead, manage and develop a group of Solution Architects and experts to derive the next generation of SiriusXM architecture concepts and designs for the automotive market, while ensuring current architectures are implemented correctly by engineering teams.

  • Work cross functionally to ensure customers have a consistent or appropriate experience in the vehicle as related to other channels, such as mobile apps, smart speakers and smart TV's.

  • Develop complete end-to-end technical solutions that include platforms for satellite, streaming, cloud / edge, and client components.

  • Develop technology roadmaps to ensure SiriusXM stays competitive as a technology leader.

  • Interact with customers, industry leaders and key stakeholders on their future designs and drive those concepts into SiriusXM's product and technology roadmaps.

  • Review feature and technical concepts of each program and ensure communication of associated designs and concepts to all development and engineering teams.

  • Update and continuously improve the architecture and feature development process; enable cross functional and cross program learnings. Drive and implement architectural best practices cross-functionally.

  • Engage in the earliest phases of feature ideation with product development leaders.

  • Invent and investigate new strategies, process, technology, features, and revenue streams, and cultivate the team to do the same. Work cross functionally to determine, with data, which of these to prioritize and pursue.

  • Lead from the front, by taking on responsibility as solution architect for specific features, architecting end-to-end solutions across all technical domains.

  • Interface with senior leadership. Present projects to executive management and the product board with data and rationale for strategic decision making.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  • 15+ years of overall experience in leading Systems Design, Systems Engineering or Software Architecture teams.

  • Experience leading teams responsible for architecture and development of large scale, highly efficient, reliable and manageable content delivery systems.

  • A technical understanding of the automotive infotainment market, including relevant operating systems, legacy vehicle architectures, and Software Defined Vehicle architectures.

  • A thorough understanding of internet architecture, content streaming and related topics.

  • Experience building systems that provide low latency delivery of large scale live and on-demand events.

  • High comfort with technical complexity and ambiguity, and an interest to pioneer.

  • Exceptional communication, cross-discipline collaboration and leadership skills.

  • Passion for excellence and getting things done.

  • Also have a working knowledge of:

    • Diverse platforms and programming languages

    • Mobile app development

    • Cloud technology

    • Modern software development, program management and QA tools

    • State of the art security engineering practices and issues.

    • Log analysis tools

  • Master's Degree, preferably in Engineering or Computer Science, preferred

  • Have launched multiple Digital Cockpit or Infotainment Systems as an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.

  • Knowledge of mobile communications and Over-the-Air update capabilities in the automotive industry.

  • Knowledge of geo-stationary satellite broadcast technology and Low Earth Orbit satellite communication technology.

  • Knowledge of Application-specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) technology, development lifecycle and supply chain

  • Willing to travel 15-30%, primarily domestically with occasional international travel.

  • Willing to work in a SiriusXM office or in a hybrid fashion combined with a home office.

  • Must have a legal right to work in the U.S.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $213,200 to $250,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
