Registered Nurse/Nurse Resident - 6th Floor Med Surg Unit - 36 Hours - Midnight Shift
$15,000 SIGN ON BONUS

Shift: 7:00pm to 7:30am
GENERAL SUMMARY
Unit Overview:
The 6th floor is a 48-bed Medical Surgical Unit. The nurses on this unit are multi-faceted and able to support patients through many phases of care. These patients are often being treated for various diseases, conditions and injuries which can include post-surgical patients, patients with acute infectious diseases receiving intravenous antibiotic treatment, those with chronic conditions that are experiencing an exacerbation. We also provide care and comfort to patients requiring end of life support. One thing that makes our floor unique is that new nurses and seasoned nurses can join our team and gain knowledge and skills that will help them to adapt easily to change-a skill that is sure to help advance them in other positions on our unit or give them the experience to advance and thrive in other areas. * Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
* Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
* Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
* Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* BSN preferred.
* Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
* Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
* Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
* Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED
* Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
