The Building Facilities Engineer will oversee the building enclosure and civil work activities on building construction projects. There are several positions that could fall under this title and may include the following responsibilities: review of design documents, submittals, RFI's, schedules, and work progress in the field while assuring that project scope, cost, and schedule are being met. You will regularly interact with construction contractor personnel while also reporting project status to Senior staff. The Engineers will assist with oversight of design, construction, and coordination of building and civil construction installations. This role will assist in creating and evaluating value engineering ideas and review project change orders relating to building and civil installation. The position requires working in a collaborative environment with all project staff disciplines to proactively identify issues, root cause problems, and drive continuous improvement.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Monitor construction work in the field by building and civil contactors
• Provide input and analysis on value engineering ideas to reduce project scope and cost
• Provide technical support to project staff to resolve field issues
• Work with the project team to develop, provide oversight, and ensure adherence to the project schedule
• Coordinate with other disciplines the project installation, delivery, and schedule
• Attend construction meeting and perform constructability reviews
• Review change orders against project scope
• Coordinate with value analysis review of project bulletins
• Monitor the quality of work, so that it is in accordance with the design drawings and specifications
• Issue progress updates and prepare presentations for upper management
• Evaluate completion of the contractors work and assist in punch-list creation and close-out
• Provide review of final close-out documentation
• Document problems found and provide lessons learned for continuous improvement
